The project aims to provide access to all video footage taken during the 1956 revolution in Hungary in order to enhance research in the topic and encourage the use of digitalized visual data in higher education in the field of history. The standards of professional historical research and teaching requires an open access policy by the project, therefore we make all data accessible without preselection. During the revolution Hungarian revolutionaries and soldiers, and Soviet soldiers died. Some members of the Hungarian political police were lynched. The results of these events are visible on some of the scenes in this video. The video is not recommended for persons under 18.
